On Stage Was in Front of the Stage

On July 16th Hochstädten hosted an open stage. Among the artists was Taiji am Neuhof to present the variety of BailongBall. Their program was calles “Making of” and Peter Hetzler moderated the audience through a typical BailongBall training. After the demonstration everybody had the chance to learn more about the sport, which was gladly accepted by many spectators. More than that, many could not resist, grabbed racket and ball and tried some of the moves presented on their own or by guidance of the trainers.

Vom 22.4 bis 24.4 fanden in Moskau die russischen Kung Fu Meisterschaften statt, dieses Mal unter Beteiligung von BailongBall Disziplinen. Insgesamt nahmen 780 Sportler teil, aus 38 Städten.

BailongBall in Chinese Sports Science

Since its invention by Prof. Bai Rong 30 years ago, 柔力球 BailongBall has become an ever more popular sport in its originating country. It has also become a research object of Chinese sports science. In this article, I would like to introduce you to one of the Chinese scientists who has been studying our sport for more than two decades: Prof. Dr. Wang Hong (王宏), from the Institute of WuShu at Wuhan Sports University.

From White to Black – the BailongBall Grading System

In order to standardize and popularize BailongBall forms (Taolu), specialists from a number of sports organizations, such as Beijing Sports University (北体大), China Elderly Sports Association (老体协), Beijing National Traditional Sports Association (北京市民族传统体育协会) and others have developed a system of sports grades – Duanwei System, similar to what we find in Wushu.
